Our daughter amanda mann worked at your orphanage in March for 2 weeks. She mentioned Jerrensia to us. My husband and I felt like God was calling us to check in on how we could adopt her or even help her with her surgeries. Amandas 2 brothers were also born with clubbed feet. They are 18 and 14 years old so we are very familiar with the process that goes on with this surgeries. We also have connection with the Shriners Hospital in Minnesota. We are currently involved with them for our younger boy and know that they would take he immediately r if she was a part of our family. We have connections with the Chief of staff who also spent some time in Haitti recently doing surgeries on children. We pray Gods will be done in her precious life. jim and jamie mann

I wonder if Jerrensia's mom would keep her if she got the surgery/correction she needs. It breaks my mother's heart to think of her coming to visit her regularly! Dixie, have you asked her if she would keep her if her legs were fixed? I am sure there are some of us who would financially support this.

This condition looks a lot like the condition my sister had when she was born. It didn't become noticeable until she was several months old. It was corrected with a series of casts. Over the course of a few months, her leg was straightened out without surgery. She's now 31 and has no further problems with her leg. Just an idea. If surgery can be avoided, I would think that would be a good thing. Please kiss Jerrensia for my family.

Hi,

I was so excited to see this post on Jerrensia. I have prayed about her since the day I saw the video that Dixie posted on her blog. She is such a beautiful baby. I emailed Dixie on Monday asking about her and let her know that we would love to help her find a doctor, hospital, and financial support. Is the US the only place her care can start? I would love to talk to you about her further if possible. My email is momtoboys123@yahoo.com. Praying for Jerrensia everyday.

I am so glad you posted this update on Jerrensia! I follow Dixie's blog and just yesterday I was telling my husband all about Jerrensia and that I was specifically praying the she could get a medical visa and that doctors could help her. She seems like such a sweet baby. I pray more than anything that someday God will allow us the opportunity to adopt from Haiti, even though I know the chances are slim since we have five biological children. Thanks again for your updates. I love them!
