Numerous Updates since I haven’t blogged for a few days!

Dixie Adoption News from GLA, And Life Goes On, Our Kids adoption news, Frantina, GLA, God's Littlest Angels, Medical care 0 Comment

First let me tell you about adoptions.  The meeting on Tuesday was cancelled because of lack of participation of orphanage directors.  We cannot get people to come to these meetings.  I just pray that everyone doesn’t regret not stepping forward and doing something a year ago to lobby for adoptions to continue in Haiti.  Everyone [...]

Starting treatment for TB…

Dixie And Life Goes On, Our Kids Frantina, God's Littlest Angels, Haiti, Medical care, Orphanage, Orphans, santo domingo 4 Comments

Wednesday, we arrived at Dr. Robert Reid Cabral Hospital at 9 AM to meet the doctor.  We didn’t see the doctor we had previously seen but we saw another one who was equally nice and spoke excellent English!  She said that she had a tutor in English as a young girl.  I was so thankful [...]

Finally a diagnosis of TB agreed upon by all doctor

Dixie And Life Goes On, Our Kids Frantina, GLA, God's Littlest Angels, Medical care, Orphanage, santo domingo 8 Comments

I still say that my best purchase here in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic was this stroller for Frantina.  She loves it and in fact, is going for a stroll in the park across from the apartment right now with Vivianne and Dave Williams! This park across from us over 3 1/2 miles long!  It has [...]

Frantina’s Doctor Visit on Thursday

Dixie And Life Goes On, Our Kids Frantina, God's Littlest Angels, Medical care, Orphanage, santo domingo 4 Comments

We moved into our apartment on Wednesday.  It’s an older building on a busy street.  It is a gated community and large with a pool so Frantina can splash around in the children’s pool for some exercise.  There is a large city park across the road that is over a mile long with children’s swings [...]

An Update on Frantina

TomVanderwell Our Kids, Ways to Partner Frantina, God's Littlest Angels, Haiti, Orphans 2 Comments

Tom here – no I don’t have any additional information on Frantina’s medical condition but I wanted to let you know of a couple of “updates” to the overall situation: It’s a national holiday in the Dominican Republic so the hospitals are closed today (well, the doctor’s offices). If the diagnosis is what it’s looking [...]

Weekend in Santo Domingo

Dixie And Life Goes On Frantina, God's Littlest Angels, Orphanage, Orphans, santo domingo 3 Comments

My days are running together and I can’t remember what I have blogged and what I have just posted on Facebook!  Friday, we went to see the neurosurgeon and he showed me the MRI results.  The mass is not solid and has pockets in the area that makes him agree with the radiologist that it [...]

Prayer Requests for Frantina and God’s Littlest Angels in Haiti

TomVanderwell Deep Thoughts, Orphan Care, Our Kids, Ways to Partner Frantina, Haiti, Orphans, Prayer 0 Comment

As the weeks keep flying by, it’s time to once again pause and look at the way that we can all support God’s Littlest Angels and our children. I believe that Paul says it well in Ephesian 6:18 – “In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray [...]

MRI RESULTS

Dixie And Life Goes On Domincan Republic, Frantina, God's Littlest Angels, Medical care, Orphan, Orphanage 0 Comment

We arrived at the Medical Center at 7 AM and Frantina did very well considering she could not have anything to eat since the night before!  She has been really good the whole trip.  I am really impressed with how happy she is and loves looking at all of the different things around her! They [...]
