Praying for the Children in Haiti
This week’s prayer request list is going to focus exclusively on the children in Haiti. They are the reason that we do what we do and the reason we ask for your prayers:
- Please pray for Frantina – she’s started her TB treatment plan – help that to be successful and help the surgery that needs to be planned to repair the damage to be successful.
- Pray for the children who are waiting for their adoptions to be finalized. Some of them know they have parents waiting, some of them don’t. But, every day that it gets delayed is a day that they miss out on the love of their new family.
- Pray for our children who don’t have a family yet. Molly, Joyce, Susan, Dixie, Holli (include all of the staff here) do a wonderful job at providing love and attention to our kids, but it is no substitute for a family. Pray that God will specifically raise up families for the boys and the older children – the ones that typically wait longer.
- Pray for the children at GLA who are struggling. Whether they are struggling to learn what they need to in school or struggling with the questions that come from no longer being with their birth family or struggling physically, pray that God will grant them what they need.
- Pray for the kids at Real Hope for Haiti – our friends Lori and Licia and their staff have had a rough week with some really sick children. Go to http://www.realhopeforhaiti.org/?p=6923 to read more about the children they are caring for and how to best pray for them.
- Pray for the children who are currently with their Haitian families and are struggling. Struggling to get enough to eat, struggling to find a dry place to sleep, struggling to make it another day. Pray that God will provide for them both short term and also long term.
The needs of the children in Haiti are great, but there are many things to be give thanks for:
- Give thanks that a number of our sick children are doing remarkably well. I spoke with Susan Westwood a couple of days ago and she said that a number of her sick and very fragile kids are doing quite well.
- Give thanks that the children God has called home to be with Him are no longer suffering. No more pain, no more hunger, no more disease – and all of the love and attention that they want and need.
The children in Haiti – they are why God’s Littlest Angels exists and why we work so hard. Thank you for devoting this next week to praying for the children at GLA and in Haiti.
