A Chance to Make a Difference for Our Little Ones

Posted by TomVanderwell

I was talking to Susan and Jean because I got an e-mail from a supporter who was asking what our most immediate need in terms of medical equipment was. What Susan and Jean told me we need two new suction machines – portable ones.

Suction machines (said the non-medical guy)? Seriously?

Apparently, suction machines are literally life saving equipment because they can be used to clear breathing passageways on very tiny babies who are having problems breathing. Being able to breathe is really important.

We have one, but it is rather, shall we say, not young. As in we can’t get parts or supplies for it any more. That makes it hard to make sure that it is reliable. And when you are dealing with medical equipment that can make the different of life or death, it’s kind of important that it works well.

A portable suction machine (such as the one pictured) is going to cost $380 plus shipping. That means that we need $760 plus shipping (basically $800) to get two of them. Would you be willing to help? Click on the chip in below and take us a step further toward getting these items down to Susan and the kids in the NICU.

Here’s another challenge for you – we have a team coming in from Illinois that is leaving to come down a week from this coming Monday. If we can raise the funds and get them ordered in time, it would be awesome to get them to Haiti in a little over a week. Can we get the funds committed before the end of this week?

As always, thank you for your support of our Angels and thank you for caring and praying. If you have any questions, let me know.

Tom
