“A Beautiful Boy God Has Given Me!”
Earlier this week Katie, our volunteer nurse from Australia, came into the office and asked Emelyne to print a couple pictures she’d taken. She explained that they were for Charileon’s father, who was here to visit is tiny infant son. “It is just the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen!” she said, describing in detail the tenderness of the father toward the tiny baby. She wanted to send home a picture of Charileon to a father who loves his boy very much and must be separated from him until he is well enough to come home.
So as to not all gawk at once, each of us girls in the office took a turn catching a glimpse of the intimate exchange. And each of us saw the most touching scene.
A young father enamored with his tiny son, his big hands cradling the child’s entire body. His eyes were fixed on the the delicate features of his little boy’s face. Taking in the corners of his mouth, the length of his eyelashes, the curve of his small nose. Never once did the joyful grin leave papa’s face as I watched. He would lean in and kiss Charileon’s ear over and over, run his
long fingers over the baby’s soft hair on his head. To watch a father treasure his child so unabashedly, keeping no emotion reserved, my heart was overflowing (and leaking out of my eyes)!
Melissa told his father in passing “He’s beautiful”, to which the proud papa replied, “Yes! He is! A beautiful boy God has given me!”
Soon Charileon will be big and strong enough to go back home with his loving father. I ask anyone who reads this to pray for them both, that Charileon continues to grow strong, and that his father is enabled to provide for the son he loves so much.

That is so very beautiful! You can see the kindness in that daddy’s eyes even through a picture!

I read Susan’s post about this experience as well!!
What amazes me about this story is this FATHER’S LOVE for his son and the fact that he wants to be in his son’s life even though his son is dealing with health issues.
I am praying for Charleon’s complete recovery and for his Father…that he will be a shinning example for all FATHERS out there esp those in Haiti. I am also praying for the day that they will be reunited to be a family!!!
