So thankful the week is over…well at least the being in the office part is over!

Posted by Dixie Bickel

It has been a rather hectic and stressful week.  Lots of things have happened and e have been very busy.

Today, I think that I have a digestive tract virus because I have been kind of sick all day. It really started on Wednesday night but has gotten worse each day.  I am hoping it is just lack of sleep and the stress.  Will take it easy tonight and go to bed earlier than normal.  It was 2:30 AM before I got to bed last night!

Three dossiers came out of IBESR today!  They will now go into Parquet as soon as the adoptive parents come and appear in front of the local judge and the civil court judge.  It is really nice to see adoptions moving forward again and quicker than usual!

Tomorrow, all of the office staff and volunteers are going to Fort Jacques for a cook out in the evening.  We pray it won’t rain on our picnic, but we really wanted to smoke and BBQ some pork ribs that I have had in the freezer for several months.  I can’t eat them on my diet, but Joyce and I will have grille Lambi (conch) instead.

Sarah seems to be breathing a little easier tonight and Magaly went to see her mother and father today.  Her mother is home from the hospital but is not doing very well.  Her blood pressure is high and medication does not seem to be working at keeping it down.  Magaly encourage her to see a doctor at the Fermathe Hospital for continued treatment.  They live in a pretty remote area, not a huge distance from the hospital but not an easy trip either.  Please pray for Sarah’s mother.

Hopefully, we will have a quiet weekend and I will not need to blog again until Monday.  Have a good weekend everyone!

  1. Dixie…. I have to ask :) How long did those 3 dossiers take in IBESR ? I pray your answer is close to the 4 week timeframe that had happened previously.
Hope you get some well deserved rest this weekend.

    Blessings,
