Donations keep coming in! From the office…
Everyone keeps talking about “when things get back to normal”…..I really don’t think that we will ever see that normal again!
I came out to the Colorado office the week after the earthquake to help and stayed for 3 weeks. During that time, I was just amazed with all of the donations that were coming in! We filled two 40 foot containers with donations in just two weeks. Then we had to order three more containers to be shipped. People are so generous!
I returned to Illinois on 13 February after we had sent the first 2 containers. The warehouse was pretty empty when I left. I hadn’t been home two days when I got a call saying that they were ordering the next two containers. They had received 48 pallets of donations from one company! That is 48,000 pounds of donations!
Well, now I am back in Colorado. I was expecting to see an empty warehouse since they had just loaded a container the day before I got here. Instead, I walked back to the warehouse the first day and it was FULL of donations!
Back to my point of never seeing the “normal” of before 12 January 2010. The office used to receive between 7-15 boxes a week of donations, now it is more than triple that a day! When people are most in need, God provides!
Thank you to everyone who has donated, you have touched many lives.
Things that we still need more of:
canned meats, peanut butter, rice, beans, protein bars
umbrellas, rain suits and ponchos
tents, tarps, air mattresses
adult towels, blankets, sheets
Please contact us here at the office if you have any questions about donations.
Until tomorrow,
Keep praying……………
