Changes to the Blog…..
Hi all,
First off, on behalf of Dixie, Jean, John, Molly, Joyce, Laurie, Susan…….. I want to take a minute and thank you for such phenomenal support over these very difficult last 5 weeks. To say that we’ve appreciated the support would be an understatement.
Secondly, in an effort to better enhance our communication with you of what is happening at GLA, how the kids are doing at GLA, and what the needs at GLA and in the Haitian community are, we’ve made a few changes to this site:
And Life Goes On: That is now the page where Dixie’s blog posts will go. That way it’s easier to follow what she’s writing and when she posts an update on a sick kid, you’ll be better able to follow them. Oh, and there is a sign up spot on Dixie’s page where any time she posts something, you’ll get an e-mail letting you know.
Tattle Tales from GLA: Melissa Friesen, one of our volunteers down at GLA, and occasionally Dixie, will be writing on this page. It’s going to contain pictures, stories, tattle tales and more about the kids at GLA and life at the orphanage. Any of you who have been there will know that there are always plenty of stories to tell!
The “Main” Page of the Blog: This is going to be where there will be a couple of us writing, but it will be predominantly me. This is the spot where we talk about the needs that are occurring, the news that’s happening, the ways we need you to help and other opportunities for you to be involved.
One of the things that these changes will allow us to do is to set up additional pages with opportunities to help and information that needs to be shared. Things like:
- A CPAP page – where we can coordinate the funding and purchase of a CPAP machine
- Medical Visa/Foster Information
- The Water Project
- Housing Plans
- More detailed information on supplies/medical equipment needed
- Other things that we haven’t even imagined we’ll need yet!
There will be additional “minor” adjustments to the site as time allows.
I hope you find the changes useful and the information helpful.
For the kids,
Tom Vanderwell

I work for a company that makes CPAPS, are you still in need of one? Please tell me the info and I will pass it on and see what we can do!

Molly,
I’ll pass your info on to one of our NICU nurses who is coordinating the CPAPs.
Thanks!
Tom
