Trip to Jacmel to deliver aid to a school

Posted by Dixie

Laurie, Molly, Joyce and Melissa traveled to Jacmel to deliver some tarps and supplies to Christophe Lang and his mother who run a school associated with their hotel, Hotel Cyvadier.  Part of their hotel, fell into a huge heap of rubble.  Part of the hotel that was new stayed standing.  The school has some classrooms that are not usable and must be torn down, but other classrooms are usable.

Laurie was surprised at the cracks in the road!  One area the road actually has raised up about 3 foot in a place that used to be flat!  They say this was caused by the wave of the earthquake.  I know it is a lot of photos, but wanted you to see the tent cities and the houses that are destroyed that stretch from north of Port au Prince down to Jacmel.

I started to name all of the photos but found I just do not have the time to do this and so I will tell you that the photos are in PAP, Carrefour, Leogane, and Jacmel.
