The Enormity of Two Things…..

Okay, what are the two things that struck me about this report?

The Enormity of the Devastation: When I combine what I’ve heard from GLA’s people in Haiti, what my wife has shared after her trip, and what I’ve seen from watching what Anderson Cooper is showing on CNN, it’s just mind boggling how much damage was done in about 10 seconds on January 12.

The Enormity of the Opportunity: Many might think that using opportunity to describe the situation in Haiti is “odd” to say the least.   But I see it as:

• An Opportunity to see what God can do in truly awful situations.  This is so not about us and it’s all about Him and what He can do.
• An Opportunity to see the collective goodness of mankind reaching out to others.
• An Opportunity to think outside the box.
• An Opportunity to exercise, on a daily basis, the idea that “NO” is not an option.
• An Opportunity to partner with others who are committed to caring for their fellow man in a way that doesn’t normally happen.
• An Opportunity to help Haiti “rise from the ashes” and emerge from this a long ways down the road a better society than it was.

This disaster is big, very very big.   But our God is Bigger!

And I encourage you to stick with us as we go down the road that God has laid before us.
